Edward Norton does Spandau Ballet... sort of. Weirdest fandom cross-over! But it is funny!
Now to find out if I can somehow watch the rest of the episode!

Man if only these two could've worked together (in anything frankly). Ok so there are better "vs" fan vids out there but the actor crush appeal on this for me is high ;)
And if you haven't seen it yet, here's a great Brandon Routh vs Christopher Reeve or Superman/Superman Returns fan vid:

Flew from Heathrow to JKF. Me and Phil thought our seats were behind eachother but turned out our seats were together - hurrah! nice surprise :) On the plane watched an episode of Doctor Who and the movies Pride & Glory (violent! fell asleep through most of it) and How To Lose Friends & Alienate People - there were two extra scenes that were not in the UK theatrical release - One was an imagination sequence of Sidney getting applause from the office staff after telling Clayton 'won't you have to run that kind of decision through Eleanor first?' and at the 4th July party Sidney bumps into the actress Rachel Petkoff [sp?] but this time she ignores him. Oh and the whole 'Are you gay?' interview was cut out. I wonder if I was watching the US theatrical release? or if there's a version just for showing on airlines?! (I suspect not).
Arrived at JFK and in the space of 2 metres at arrivals exit got hassled numerous times by touts offering taxis/transportation. Thankfully we'd booked ours in advance. Got to hotel, checked in, ate and in the evening went to The View revolving bar @ Marriot on Times Square for the views...

So I had a nice day off today. Slept in, then hit the shops to buy Xmas pressies and find a dress for the work Xmas party.
Not much success on the pressie side - high street shops - why are you charging more than online? this is not going to encourage me to spend there so why is the news saying we'll get discounts on the high street this year because of the downturn in the economy?
Anyway I did manage to find a dress - yay! Its a dark blue 1920s flapper style dress. It's not fantastically Xmas-ey but am pleased with it. But fashion conscious people - I need tips on the following:
What colour tights? I like black - but am not sure it goes with a dark blue dress?
What colour shoes? Found some nice bronze shoes but am not convinced it will match well?
Can you tell I don't shop for party clothes that often :P
Other stuff:
TV - how great is The Devils Whore? And I also enjoyed Einstein & Eddington :) Also Simon Pegg is to host a Xmas special of The Friday Night Project *grin*
I never got the chance to see Pride & Glory at the cinema :( Planned to see it this weekend but nowhere is showing it. On a good note however, my local cinema has put up a massive poster with Nick Frost on it for The Boat That Rocked:

so hopefully there will be a trailer soon :)

stolen from
norton_daily. I can has Norton-centric Hulk poster please? Is this official? or fan made? Never saw one over here:

Also,
swankyfunk alerted me to the fact that Norton's playing two characters in his next movie yay!, and this poster pretty much establishes that:

And Norton aside, how fab a cast is this:
George Clooney, Kevin Spacey - awesome! but there's more... AND Ewan McGregor and Jeff Bridges are all in The Men Who Stare At Goats. Plot details here.

off to see The Incredible Hulk at the cinema again at the bfi this evening. And then tomorrow I get to see SUPERMAN II on the big screen for the FIRST time ever :D and again on Sunday! because (a) I'm slightly obsessive and (b) I don't know if another opportunity to do so will come my way again.
I heart bfi :D

Watched The Illusionist movie today for the first time on DVD. Beautiful romantic movie. Reminded me a little bit of Somewhere in Time except instead of time travel, there is magic. As with many of Ed Norton's films, not everything is as it seems, great ending :) I was also amused by the fact that who should pop up in it, only Bob 'Hot Fuzz' Walker LOL. He gets around does Bob ;)
And oooh look a new release date with new trailer for Pride and Glory Is this gonna be Ed Norton's version of Nicholas Angel? (ok ok weak link :P ) But the new trailer looks good. :)

AND NOW:

I have never seen either of these on a cinema screen before. :D
I will also be going the BFI's screening on Incredible Hulk in August, and
hils if you need an excuse to see it on the big screen again - Iron Man is also screening in August.
Tomorrow I am going to the first lecture at the bfi on Superheroes, Shoguns, Superspies and Spartans: Comic Books and the Cinema. Can't wait :D Am loving this bfi season :)

Had a lovely day off work today. I basically slept and shopped :)
Stuff I bought:
Clothes - 1 top, 2 flannel shirts (always makes me think of farm boy Clark Kent) :P
Books - spent ages in WHSmith deciding which 3 books I'd get from 3 for 2 deal - *every single book valid* - so took a while. Ended up with:
Superman: Red Son - graphic novel.
Somewhere in Heaven - unofficial biography of Christopher and Dana Reeve just published (hate that title but hey, never judge a book by its cover/title)
Wall E Mega Models - so much fun - make 3D movie characters. Here's my result:

^ hours of fun making these.
I also went into Toy City, big mistake because I saw the first Wall E toys - I really wanted one but resisted. And then I saw The Incredible Hulk with Ed Norton style Bruce Banner. Really wanted that too. But it was double the price of other action toys grr!
swankyfunk if your reading - I know you wanted Norton related merchandise, this one was from Hasbro toys though I can't see it on the site :( Feeling good about resisting spending my money on action figures I walked out the shop but then passed the bargain bin and spotted a Lex Luthor Superman Returns action figure. Had to get that to add to my collection. Bargain at half price :)
I also did my favourite thing of chilling out at a coffee shop with a dose of caffeine and a book - made a start on The Incredible Hulk movie novel.

Down In the Valley Trailer:
^ Well this is enough to make you weary of getting deep into a relationship with anyone. You'll be watching this trying to guess what is going to happen... I was. And even knowing something is going to happen, doesn't lose its shock factor. The kind of movie you where you want to discuss the character you've just watched after. That's all I can say without going into spoiler territory.
25th Hour Trailer:
^ I saw this at the cinema on its release. It's actually one of my favourite movies ever. It was supposedly one of the first movies to make a direct reference to 9/11 and show ground zero. It's not what the film is about but it does fit into the bigger theme of make the most of your freedom, your life, your lucky to have it. In the same way that I don't watch American Beauty often, I don't watch this often because I don't want the film to lose its emotional impact when I do chose to watch it. So yeah. Like this one, a lot.

So The Incredible Hulk kept no. 1 position at the UK box office. :) What does it say about me that I see this movie twice but have no desire whatsoever to ever watch Sex & The City movie - supposedly for us girls? No thanks. I ordered the novel version of Incredible Hulk - at least Edward Norton gets a writing credit on the front cover (unlike the film credits). Am curious about where the deleted scenes fit in the narrative. Plus I noticed that it's written by the same person that did Iron Man novel and I remember
hils posted that it was better than most. Oh well, any excuse. And even if it looks like it, me and
hils are not competing to see who can make the most Iron Man/Incredible Hulk posts even if it looks like it :P *giggles*
On that note can anyone please find me FEMALE size Incredible Hulk t shirts online? I've yet to find any. Alternatively I might fit an XL Youth t shirt if anyone finds one?
And regarding the best superhero of all, am loving all the videos being posted at the Superman Homepage of the staff members meeting together etc
michaelbailey and

*Squee* two of my fav actors:

^ Edward Norton and Christopher Reeve, taken in 2003 at US Open finals. Wonder what they were talking about? Probably the tennis :P
Moving on to 2007, this probably sold out in seconds. Norton @ NFT, London.
This Photo should come with a warning!. Beautiful.
Can't be bothered to post more but I will point you to four lovely pages of Nortoness here.
Will stop now. Promise. Well at least for today :P

My mum's not feeling to well, started last night - not the best end to her birthday. :( Been taking it easy this afternoon. All of us watched The Painted Veil:
Oh the tension in this movie! Kept me hooked. I could fangirl about Norton (cute, and cute British accent!) but really, goes without saying - great performance, and also from Naomi Watts. The real story is often reading between the lines with the relationship between Kitty (Naomi Watts) and Dr. Fane (Edward Norton). Although it was a short scene Ed nailed this:

^ see it and I challenge how can you not be hooked into finding out the fate of these two.

Happy Birthday to my mum! Had a lovely meal at an Italian restaurant in Bledlow Ridge for lunch. I especially loved the sardines starter I ate. Haven't had sardines in years, they taste better than I remember.
Doctor Who - tonight's 'Turn Left' was awesome. Donna Noble haters will be eating their words I hope. Loved how Russell T. linked events across all the series! Sometimes I wonder if he's just showing off ;) Great writer. Can't wait for next week's episode :D
Oh and all the Edward Norton related posting made me forget to mention: Spacey's filming a new movie with Robin Williams yay! It's called Shrink and Kevin's playing, er, a shrink.
ohnotheydidnt has on set photos here. Hello stubble :) Loving the suit also.
The Ed Norton related posts will be continuing btw. I went on an impulse DVD buy on Thursday and bought some of his movies (well I had to do something whilst waiting for the tube delays to ease).

So I went to see The Incredible Hulk again at the cinema today. Obsessed? Maybe a little ;)
missy_manic hadn't seen it yet and it didn't take much to persuade her to go. She prefers Iron Man movie though. I figured out why that's not the case for me. I think it comes down to the romance aspect:
Simple as that. There was great chemistry between Tony Stark and Pepper Potts in Iron Man don't get me wrong but I didn't root for them in the way I did for Bruce Banner and Betty Ross. Their circumstances are different and a lot more sad. Iron Man focused much more on Tony Stark - I guess it had to given that it was an origins movie but the character himself is much more self-centric, all be it a very charming one thanks to RDJ but I don't know *shrugs*, just found it less interesting than Bruce who appears to not want his powers. Just putting my thoughts out there, I think I'm pretty much alone in this view LOL! Plus its Edward Norton, did I mention that? ;)

Some funny Incredible Hulk promotion from Edward Norton. "We're trying to reinvent the franchise, Wall-E would kick your ass, Have you seen Fight Club?" *giggles*
And this is probably NSFW but Edward Norton and Brad Pitt sing a lovely Penis song:

Seen at the cinema:
The Good Night
In The Valley Of Elah
The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep
No Country For Old Men
The Edge Of Heaven (Auf der anderen Seite)
Grindhouse double bill: Planet Terror + Deathproof
Vantage Point
Lonesome Jim
Son of Rambow
Leatherheads
Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Trailer:
Oh Edward I've missed you. I enjoyed this movie. I preferred it to Iron Man - but in all honestly this is 90% because Edward Norton's in it and that means an added actor crush factor, and 10% because I'm much more familiar with the character. That said I still grinned happily at the RDJ Tony Stark cameo, nice cross over :)
Some more potential spoiler comments under the cut.
