Well worth the wait I think :) My favourite of all the specials of this 'season' so far. Tennant and Russell T. I applaud you - I think this is a great beginning-of-the-end. ( I knew as soon as the episode made such a big deal out of )
As much as I don't want to see it end I cannot wait to see how it does now :) The teaser was great. Loved the Master in a hoodie - wasn't expecting that :) Simm vs Tennant - its gonna be good! :D

Oh PLEASE BE TRUE :D
Stolen from
doctorwho. No spoilers and a great 20 minute interview with Russell T Davies and David Tenant talking about their final episodes of Doctor Who. I love them for getting excited in talking about what they've done without giving anything away!
Oh, ok so there was no big announcement, just preview clips of Tennant's last episodes of Doctor Who (Noooooo! don't go!....) that included the announcement of the return of you know who enemy of the Doctor (unless you've been even better than I have at avoiding spoilers, and I've been pretty damn good).
Oh god. Its gonna be HORRIBLE!
From Panel write up here.
Also the Smallville panel - so they are going break their own rule by showing the tights this season? Though the descriptions sound more Matrix than Superman..... Yay! for Tom Welling finally appearing at a Con! And Johns writing an episode - that I would watch (though I am soooo far behind the seasons I don't think I'll ever catch up).
They talk a little about the last episode; and about showing it to the composer and how, halfway through the second episode, he started shaking and sobbing. Tissues, they warn, will be necessary.

So, as usual Comic Con brings some exciting tidbits of info.
I cannot wait for Star Trek XI DVD. That preview got me way too excited. :D
Like the teaser poster but really want to see a trailer for Dead of Night (based on Dylan Dog comics).
Paul Gross has been at Comic Con for The Witches of Eastwick TV series (which I would love to say excites me, but I'm not sold at the moment). Gross fans - is his shirt really that bad?! I don't think it is (maybe I should be worried about my own fashion sense ;)
Also, General? Would you care to step outside? These Mattel figures of Superman and General Zod - I WANT THEM.
ETA: You've probably seen this by now but fangirls will be happy with Tennant/Barrowman especially:
Am more interested in what this 'special announcement at another panel.... *is curious*

Beautiful weather this weekend. Kinda wasted it on Saturday but today took a trip to south east London to visit Crossness Pumping Station at the suggestion of
missy_manic It has beautiful iron work, and is being carefully restored. I will post pictures so you can see what I mean another time.
TV - yay! Spandau on Jonathan Ross didn't let me down, good performance. Looking forward to the tour now :) Love the 'true'/false quiz Ross did. Pegg's interview was a bit short :( But I LOL'd when he beamed down with Lady Ga Ga's tea cup (only makes sense if you saw the previous week's show). It sounds like Scotty Pegg has a scene with Spock Nimoy - now that *is* exciting, and I hadn't seen the clip of Star Trek they showed (being trying to avoid overkill on trailers/clips) :D
Non UK Pegg fans hope this works for you if you haven't found it online already:
And the BAFTA TV Awards tonight - YAY! for I.T. Crowd winning - so much for Graeham Lineham twittering that he wouldn't win! But boo for Peter Serafinowicz, and Doctor Who missing out :( (side note - David Tennant's sparkly Darth Vader t shirt worn tonight was really rather awesome) French & Saunders - I hope you never retire from parodies - they are the best.

Well thanks to a spoiler photo I just had to click to find out what is was from
_faeriequeen regarding filming currently going on for the next Doctor Who special (not the Easter one, the final ones...) all I can say it Russell T. Davies .... YES!! THANK YOU. :D :D :D It's good for more than 1 reason too.
IT WILL BE EPIC EPIC TELEVISION.
:D
missy_manic I do believe your end of season 4 theory might be correct :D :D :D :D :D

There are 21, yes 21 different covers of the current edition of the Radio Times on shelves now to celebrate 21 years of Comic Relief. I've watched a good 10 years worth of them. This and Blue Peter are responsible for teaching me as a child that its better to give than receive - and that there's a big world outside your classroom with people less fortunate than you.
Hands up if you want to see a Pegg Cover, or how about Tennant Cover, or Gary Barlow. You really should browse through all the covers, so much talent :)
Also Sanjeev get back on the telly - miss you!
Volunteers who help charities do good work on a daily or monthly basis are heroes in my book. I couldn't do it but I've got my red nose, I've got my t shirt, and I'll donate on the night if not beforehand so I can sit and enjoy and I hope the UK despite the current economy is generous with donations.
ETA Here's a really easy way to help raise money for Comic Relief - *anyone* online can do this. Need to Google something? Don't go to google.com instead use www.DRWHOogle.com - a search engine powered by google. Find out how it works for charity here And remember to bookmark and use DRWHOogle. Spread the word!

First off - I just read that David Tennant and rest of RSC cast are to perform Hamlet for film. Fantastic news for all those fans who signed a petition for exactly that - let's hope it gets a release on DVD.
Onto TV, Being Human - superb episode to end a great series. This is my favourite new show in ages. So I am glad it has been given a second series. Hurry up already :D And er - god how many doctors this season are carrying some horrible dark trauma's around with them :( That's all I can say without typing a spoiler. The emergency eye surgery is the grossest thing I've seen on er in a long time. I couldn't watch it :-/

- 00:05 back from screening + Q&A @ bfi of The Quatermass Experiment (2005) which was a live BBC TV broadcast starring David Tennant + Mark Gatiss. #
^ Awesome random fact about the above show for Tennant fans = according to Wikipedia as found by
It was during the rehearsals for The Quatermass Experiment that David Tennant was offered the role of the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who. This casting was not announced to the public until later in April, but his fellow castmembers, and crew, became aware of the speculation surrounding Tennant; in the live broadcast Jason Flemyng changed Quatermass's first line to Tennant's Dr Briscoe from "Good to have you back Gordon" to "Good to have you back Doctor" as a deliberate reference.

BBC1 are making the announcement TOMORROW!
I am strangely excited, but also know that once its known am gonna seriously relish the last eps we have of the brilliant David Tennant...
I have no real preference over the names that have been rumored either. I wonder if it'll be an unknown? probably not.

This Xmas's Doctor Who soooo much better than last year - yay! And not just because of the Cybermen and Cyber King. Just a better story, simpler and warm and fuzzy just in time for Xmas. My favourite bit? Probably The Doctor doing the classic superhero bit of saving a child from danger. Loved the humour too - the fob watch bit mad me LOL when nothing happened.
Watched the confidential behind the scenes today which I'd recorded and I so totally do not remember the comic relief Doctor Who written by Steven Moffat that included Hugh Grant playing The Doctor. When was that?! I always watch Comic Relief so am surprised I don't remember it. Oh and Russell T. Davies teasing that the last specials next year with Tennant will be all about The Doctor and his theme of loneliness... can't wait but at the same time am dreading the last episode!
Only one thing left on my Xmas TV list now:
The Sunday Night Project with Simon Pegg
The Peter Serafinowicz Show
EastEnders
Doctor Who
Superman Returns

So I had a nice day off today. Slept in, then hit the shops to buy Xmas pressies and find a dress for the work Xmas party.
Not much success on the pressie side - high street shops - why are you charging more than online? this is not going to encourage me to spend there so why is the news saying we'll get discounts on the high street this year because of the downturn in the economy?
Anyway I did manage to find a dress - yay! Its a dark blue 1920s flapper style dress. It's not fantastically Xmas-ey but am pleased with it. But fashion conscious people - I need tips on the following:
What colour tights? I like black - but am not sure it goes with a dark blue dress?
What colour shoes? Found some nice bronze shoes but am not convinced it will match well?
Can you tell I don't shop for party clothes that often :P
Other stuff:
TV - how great is The Devils Whore? And I also enjoyed Einstein & Eddington :) Also Simon Pegg is to host a Xmas special of The Friday Night Project *grin*
I never got the chance to see Pride & Glory at the cinema :( Planned to see it this weekend but nowhere is showing it. On a good note however, my local cinema has put up a massive poster with Nick Frost on it for The Boat That Rocked:

so hopefully there will be a trailer soon :)

Over a week late but for anyone who's interested photos from Stratford-Upon-Avon and the RSC cast for Hamlet and Love's Labour's Lost. Images under the cuts.
( Picturesque Stratford-Upon-Avon except for the scafolding )
( Hamlet )
( Here be the most haunted house in England, apparently. )
And one for Doctor Who fans - I saw this and immediately thought of a different Master altogether, one with a laser screwdriver cos who'd have sonic?
( Devil's chair )
( And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. )
( RSC cast from Love's Labour's Lost. )

This week started well:
Went to see David Tennant perform Hamlet and Love's Labour's Lost. Will post photos at the weekend.
But then, my nan has fallen ill and is in hospital. I went to see her yesterday. She's very weak and tired but hopefully on the road to recovery. Positive thoughts. And then, Tennant announced he is to quit Doctor Who. Even though I knew it was coming/suspected it, the announcement left me sad. And that made me realise how much of a fan of his doctor I am. Trivial news to some maybe, it wasn't to me (Don't get me started on the media fury of Brand/Ross - to me that is trivial and yet top headline for how many days?)
But then, today, successfully managed to get tickets to Take That's tour next year. This has cheered me up somewhat when I wasn't really aware I need cheering up.
