Just watched Take That - The Circus Tour on blu-ray.
It is amazing. Well worth blu-ray for crystal clear colours of stage, lighting, costumes, and the man band themselves. The helicopter shots are spectacular also.
Non-HD clip is crappy but it gives you an idea:
Also yesterday watch The Mighty Boosh Future Sailors Tour on DVD. Funny, I had forgotten about 'Batman Capes' and the Honey Monster. Still love Bob Fossils Dance Class and Crack Fox does 90s rave - terrifying and hilarious in equal measure.

I laughed A LOT at this trailer. It's the kind of thing I can imagine as a sketch from Big Train :)

The Kemp brothers were on TV tonight - that was a nice surprise since I caught it by chance - Cannot wait for the Spandau Ballet gig's. Is there by chance anyone on my f-list also a fan? I doubt it. It was one fandom online that was er, slightly banana's (both in a good and a bad way) when I was a part of it. That's all I'm saying. Sometimes I miss it a bit or correction I miss one person in particular I met from it - a mad but fun lady. I am glad the band *finally* got over themselves and got back together even if is just for this one tour - am gonna lap it up for the LOL and good times. :)

We know loooads more appropriate music for it for the musical on ice version ;) This film oddly actually prompted my first ever must find filming locations trip back in 2000.
Moving on.... this made me LOL. Zachary Quinto - do more comedy please: (NSFW - language, dark content)

So Sunday I went to BBC to see filming of an episode of Miranda - new BBC sitcom comedy starring Miranda Hart. You may have seen her in Not Going Out or Hyperdrive, or the radio if your a radio listener. Really good fun. Sally Phillips is in the cast playing Miranda's annoying posh sister. :) Hope it does well when it airs as I like Hart a lot. The warm up audience guy on this was also hilarious.
crapguitarist thank you for reminding me that Inherit The Wind tickets for the Old Vic were already on sale. I am so slacking :( I decided to take my mum who has never seen Spacey perform on stage before and will be going in November. The closest I could get seats to the stage is row J :( Its not just shallow reasons I want this, the closer I am the more I can lip read. However I've a feeling this play will involve lots of shouting so I should be fine ;) *excited* Can't wait to see Spacey again on stage - seems ages. Also
swankyfunk informs me that Jessica Hynes is back on stage in London - that is very tempting also.
Myself and
missy_manic are nearly finished with watching Star Trek TOS Season 2. Just watched the episode Bread and Circuses (do I like those grey tshirts on Kirk, Spock and McCoy? Heck yes.) One more ep to go!
Comics - just finished reading part 1 of Superman For Tomorrow. Absolutely brilliant writing and story art. I will comment more on this another time, plus I need to buy part 2 and finish it.
And the other big news... Rachel's got a job in Glasgow! This is great for her - what she has been aiming to do for since Spring so I am thrilled for her. But it means I will lose a good friend as a great flatmate, so will be flatmate hunting come October. We shall be having a massive 30th birthday/send off for her early October - should be fun :D
And tomorrow I am going with
missy_manic and Rach to Brighton for the weekend. Believe it or not. I have never been - this will be my first visit!

So photo a day - I know I'm halfway through the year but its taking over my LJ and frankly its probably only interesting to me right? So I think what I shall do is continue to take a photo a day but post it all at the end of the year - rather than every day..... good/bad?
Had a busy but fun social week, went to see my friend Jo' s latest play that she has directed at White Bear Theatre - Tis' Pity She's A Whore. Heavy stuff but kudos to Jo and the cast for making it accessible to a more modern audience - especially liked the gore! Also went to see friend Andy's producing efforts in a pre-Edinburgh Festival gig for comedy group called Sunken Luggage. Really liked the format - a sketch show about a sketch show - breaking the fourth wall. Was a confident debut from the cast I thought :)
And last night went to I heart 90s @ Islington Academy with Rach and
missy_manic. Nearly got turned away because I didn't have any I.D. on me (I'm 10 years over the legal age damnit, why would I carry I.D?). I was not rude however when security turned me away which led them to ask my birth date. When I confirmed it they decided to believe me and let me in. Anyway, took a while for the good music to start but when it did - awesome. Gotta love a bit of Blur, Pulp followed by Haddaway, Snow, and Snap! The only bad thing was I drinking what must be the foulest cocktail I've ever had. Supposedly a Strawberry Mojito - it tasted like undiluted Ribena with added sugar and cheap vodka. Disgusting.
So I have a whole week off from work next week - yay! My plans are generally to RELAX. I didn't do this last year and consequently was ill just before Christmas. Do not want that to happen again.

^ The first episode of Pyschoville from the creators of The League of Gentlemen was very promising :D :D I have missed their warped, disturbing, funny, horrific, sad and compelling stories. There were some hilarious visual gags 'cash in hand' (literally it was cash in a hand) etc - its sooo silly but I laughed!
Also That Mitchell & Webb Look is back :D

^ @ Udderbelly Comedy Festival bar. Went to see Mitch Benn. The guy is a musical poet. I do not understand why he is not mega famous because he's extremely talented at what he does. Sharp witty lyrics that are also very funny.

Beautiful weather this weekend. Kinda wasted it on Saturday but today took a trip to south east London to visit Crossness Pumping Station at the suggestion of
missy_manic It has beautiful iron work, and is being carefully restored. I will post pictures so you can see what I mean another time.
TV - yay! Spandau on Jonathan Ross didn't let me down, good performance. Looking forward to the tour now :) Love the 'true'/false quiz Ross did. Pegg's interview was a bit short :( But I LOL'd when he beamed down with Lady Ga Ga's tea cup (only makes sense if you saw the previous week's show). It sounds like Scotty Pegg has a scene with Spock Nimoy - now that *is* exciting, and I hadn't seen the clip of Star Trek they showed (being trying to avoid overkill on trailers/clips) :D
Non UK Pegg fans hope this works for you if you haven't found it online already:
And the BAFTA TV Awards tonight - YAY! for I.T. Crowd winning - so much for Graeham Lineham twittering that he wouldn't win! But boo for Peter Serafinowicz, and Doctor Who missing out :( (side note - David Tennant's sparkly Darth Vader t shirt worn tonight was really rather awesome) French & Saunders - I hope you never retire from parodies - they are the best.

The Matt Berry gig was good. Made for a different kind of night out. His support act were a bit random - Pocket Lips - first they sounded like 90s Reel 2 Reel, then they sounded like Limp Bizkit. They were billed as electro - but I don't think that was accurate IMO. Matt Berry has an a-mazing band supporting him, that was just as fab to hear live as him singing his songs. One Track Lover and Snuffbox went down a storm amongst others. The venue Scala - never been before, love it - its the perfect size - not too big not too small. :)
And OMG er tonight! Horrible, horrible cliffhanger. Carter's back but there's something he's not telling us :( And I heart Morris - the storyline with the police woman girlfriend and the actions of her boss resulting in life threatening injuries, doing the right thing might threaten his relationship with her... what's gonna happen next? And Ray sent Neela a CD/DVD but we didn't get to see what Neela watched... lots of unanswered questions tonight! Just glad the next episode is only a week away :)

So Doctor Who - well it was all about the last five minutes for me and *that* message (under the cut - SPOILERS)
And Red Dwarf - oooh part 1 felt strange, I couldn't get used to the new glossy spaceship. But then came a line that made me chuckle...and (SPOILERS under the cut)

There are 21, yes 21 different covers of the current edition of the Radio Times on shelves now to celebrate 21 years of Comic Relief. I've watched a good 10 years worth of them. This and Blue Peter are responsible for teaching me as a child that its better to give than receive - and that there's a big world outside your classroom with people less fortunate than you.
Hands up if you want to see a Pegg Cover, or how about Tennant Cover, or Gary Barlow. You really should browse through all the covers, so much talent :)
Also Sanjeev get back on the telly - miss you!
Volunteers who help charities do good work on a daily or monthly basis are heroes in my book. I couldn't do it but I've got my red nose, I've got my t shirt, and I'll donate on the night if not beforehand so I can sit and enjoy and I hope the UK despite the current economy is generous with donations.
ETA Here's a really easy way to help raise money for Comic Relief - *anyone* online can do this. Need to Google something? Don't go to google.com instead use www.DRWHOogle.com - a search engine powered by google. Find out how it works for charity here And remember to bookmark and use DRWHOogle. Spread the word!

Being Human was good again this week. It may earn itself and LJ tag this rate. Who writes it? Full marks for writing something creative that doesn't feel stale or as if its trying to hard. As for other TV, er was ok on Thursday, yay for Ray being mentioned - at last! Also, Morris - the woman asked you out - go for it! The new chief of staff is getting a nice character development. I also watched two episodes of Big Train on DVD. Why are sketch shows out of fashion at the moment? No Catherine Tate at the moment, and I guess Little Britain has been the most popular recently but I can't think of one that's actually airing at the moment? I was sad to read that one of the creators of Goodness Gracious Me passed away - that was a superb sketch show that made me a fan of Sanjeev Bhaskar.
