Comedy watching

Yellow, Superman Returns
Have watched a lot of British comedy over the last few days. [info]missy_manic rented 24 Hour Party People - namely for the double bonus of Simon Pegg *and* John Simm being in the cast - neither of who are in it enough! That said, interesting movie with lots of 'names' in the cast. Also watched The Parole Officer - another comedy movie lead by Steve Coogan. Made me laugh but the fact that the story revolved around an attempt to uncover a corrupt police officer made me think of Hot Fuzz. Pegg has a blink and you'll miss it appearance in this movie too!

And right now I have just watched the first 3 eps of Asylum on you tube:

For those on are unaware - this was one of the first collaerations between Jessica Hynes (previously Stevens), Simon Pegg, and director Edgar Wright who would later go to make Spaced. It's quite catchy - premises allows for a loose plot line, of essentially following the lives of inmates in an assylum - each played by comics/comic actors that include Norman 'Holly from Red Dwarf' Lovett, and Adam Bloom (whom so far has made me laugh a lot in this show) But what is it with Edgar Wright/Simon Pegg and, jugglers, gingers, and shortcuts through gardens - themes which are both in Asylum and Hot Fuzz! Check it out. Will watch more another time. Thanks to the person who posted it online :)
